DONATE $30,800 TO RED CROSS RELIEF FUNDS!

Donations CeremonyALEXANDRIA, VA - USA Mark Gross, CEO of The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences announces that NACCAS and the NACCAS accredited cosmetology schools have collectively donated over $30,800 to the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Relief Fund to help all those affected by the September 11th attacks.

NACCAS helped to organize and solicit funds through a comprehensive array of cosmetology school fundraisers and donation efforts. Many school owners donated checks on behalf of each school, while many held cut-a-thons and community fundraiser activities.

Mr. Maurice R. Levite, vice president of the American Red Cross, visited NACCAS from their Washington DC national headquarters to personally receive a check from Mark Gross of NACCAS during a presentation ceremony. Levite noted, "As a representative of the American Red Cross, I want to say how very much we appreciate the fundraising efforts made by NACCAS and their NACCAS accredited cosmetology schools to support our Liberty Disaster Relief Fund. More importantly, I want to thank you for helping the thousands of families who have been so severely impacted by this terrible disaster."

Mark Gross noted, "On behalf of NACCAS and all of the NACCAS accredited cosmetology schools, we wish to publicly thank the Red Cross, which immediately organized all of the necessary massive relief efforts and blood drives to help in the vital healing process of America."

Mr. Levite continues, "We appreciate NACCAS confidence in the Red Cross. These funds will help our nation heal from this catastrophe of unprecedented proportions. To date, the Red Cross has already provided direct assistance to over 25,000 families, amounting to $217.7 million. We have been able to provide food, temporary shelter, emotional and spiritual counseling, as well as cash assistance for survivors' families of those lost as well as to help support the rescue and recovery efforts. More than 190,000 mental health and grief counseling contacts have been made with persons affected by the events of September 11. Over 12 million meals have been served in the rescue efforts, with over 10,000 meals being served each day. Our Red Cross website is updated daily with information about where the funds will be utilized and how they are used."
