NACCAS & NACCAS ACCREDITED SCHOOLS
DONATE $30,800 TO RED CROSS RELIEF FUNDS!
ALEXANDRIA,
VA - USA Mark Gross, CEO of The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology
Arts & Sciences announces that NACCAS and the NACCAS accredited cosmetology
schools have collectively donated over $30,800 to the American Red Cross
Liberty Disaster Relief Fund to help all those affected by the September
11th attacks.
NACCAS helped to organize and solicit funds through a comprehensive array
of cosmetology school fundraisers and donation efforts. Many school owners
donated checks on behalf of each school, while many held cut-a-thons and
community fundraiser activities.
Mr. Maurice R. Levite, vice president of the American Red Cross, visited
NACCAS from their Washington DC national headquarters to personally receive
a check from Mark Gross of NACCAS during a presentation ceremony. Levite
noted, "As a representative of the American Red Cross, I want to
say how very much we appreciate the fundraising efforts made by NACCAS
and their NACCAS accredited cosmetology schools to support our Liberty
Disaster Relief Fund. More importantly, I want to thank you for helping
the thousands of families who have been so severely impacted by this terrible
disaster."
NACCAS is very proud to represent the entire professional beauty industry,
inclusive of the NACCAS cosmetology schools to show America how
'UNITED WE STAND!" Mark Gross noted, "On behalf of NACCAS and
all of the NACCAS accredited cosmetology schools, we wish to publicly
thank the Red Cross, which immediately organized all of the necessary
massive relief efforts and blood drives to help in the vital healing process
of America."
Mr. Levite continues, "We appreciate NACCAS confidence in the Red
Cross. These funds will help our nation heal from this catastrophe of
unprecedented proportions. To date, the Red Cross has already provided
direct assistance to over 25,000 families, amounting to $217.7 million.
We have been able to provide food, temporary shelter, emotional and spiritual
counseling, as well as cash assistance for survivors' families of those
lost as well as to help support the rescue and recovery efforts. More
than 190,000 mental health and grief counseling contacts have been made
with persons affected by the events of September 11. Over 12 million meals
have been served in the rescue efforts, with over 10,000 meals being served
each day. Our Red Cross website is updated daily with information about
where the funds will be utilized and how they are used."
