Free One and a Half Day Workshop for Academics Interested
in Becoming NACCAS Evaluators
The National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology
Arts & Sciences, Inc. (NACCAS) is seeking evaluators in the Academic
category to conduct on-site evaluations to institutions in the accreditation
process. If you meet all of the
qualifications listed below, and are interested in participating as an evaluator, please join us for this free one and
a half day workshop following the CEA convention
at the Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, Nevada:
Do you meet all of the following qualifications?
Do
you currently teach in a post-secondary institution?
Do
you have expertise in post-secondary education?
Do
you have knowledge in pedagogy (The art of teaching-Preparatory instruction or training in teaching) ?
Have
you developed curriculum (A course of study offered by an educational institution)?
Evaluation Team Functions:
v
Evaluation teams visit three or four schools per week
v
Evaluation teams visit post-secondary schools that
offer programs within NACCAS’ scope (i.e., cosmetology, barbering, esthetics,
nail care, massage therapy, and related fields)
v
Evaluators verify and ascertain the accuracy of
information submitted by schools in their application and Institutional Self-Study
(ISS)
v
Evaluators independently evaluate the institution’s
compliance with accreditation requirements
v
Evaluators provide technical assistance to help school
personnel understand accreditation requirements
v
Airfare and accommodations are paid for by NACCAS
v
Evaluators receive honorarium and per diem
v
Evaluators have the flexibility to indicate the
frequency of visits based upon their schedule

Please Note: Attendance at this mini workshop will
not be considered as a substitute for meeting
the regular NACCAS workshop
requirements, as detailed in Appendix 3 of the NACCAS Rules, however, this workshop will meet the Team
Training requirements for evaluators.
Please bring your resume, emphasizing your teaching
experience at the post-secondary level, curriculum development and pedagogy, a
copy of your job description showing your responsibilities regarding curriculum
development and teaching, and if you are licensed or certified as a
professional within NACCAS’ scope, include a copy of your license or
certification.
